Save time for site-specific installations by Bethan Gray, Moritz Waldemeyer, and Tannaz Oroumchi at the sketch, the iconic building formerly home to the Royal Institute of British Architects, and Christian Dior’s atelier.
Sketch returns to the festival after a two-year hiatus with new commissions by Bethan Gray, Moritz Waldemeyer and Tannaz Oroumchi that respond to the architecture of the restaurant.
Exhibited around the upstairs pods will be over 50 large-scale architectural drawings by Oroumchi depicting London, Paris, Istanbul and New York.
Sketch has fun with its half dozen spaces – including its famous alien-pod loos, where they’ve hung diaphanous architectural drawings by Tannaz Oroumchi over the toilets.
After undergoing a makeover earlier in the year, Mayfair institution Sketch (9 Conduit St) offered a display of newly commissioned, site-specific installations by Bethan Gray, Moritz Waldemeyer and Tannaz Oroumchi, accompanied by specially-crafted cocktails.
Three installations transform Sketch London—one of London’s most Instagrammable restaurants and a hotspot for the well-heeled design crowd—through October 16. In homage to the restaurant’s name, Tannaz Oroumchi presents “Change of Form,” a collection of over 50 large-scale architectural drawings.
Artwork by London-based architect Tannaz Oroumchi can also be seen among the decayed grandeur as you travel around the historic building.
